1ST Peacock Bass Strike Unini River Brazil October 2006
This is a video of a 13lb peacock bass striking a topwater woodchopper lure in Brazil, 10/06, on the Unini River. With the video running only a couple minutes for the purpose of filming the lure’s action for the camera we fortuitously got the strike, fight and landing of the fish ON VIDEO as well!! If that wasn’t amazing enough, I caught the 13lb male companion to this fish which you can see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unUuns8np2w We booked our trip through Alan Zaremba who is a great peacock bass fishing guide in South Florida and organizes trips to Brazil, The Amazon and South America. You can see his video page at http://www.youtube.com/worldwidepeacockbass and for more information about a great trip with Alan, visit http://www.floridapeacocks.com !!

off road VW bus kombi in the amazon jungle of brazil
Slap on tire chains, mash the peddle, and hold on….that’s how we get around in the tropical rain forest of Brazil.
We’re missionaries in northern brazil and use our VW bus to travel in the interior.
Unlike Canada and Europe where they have the VW 4×4 version, in Brazil we muscle through the mud and ruts with the 2wd version.
We’ve had up to 32 people in this bus, and carried up to 2,000 pounds in the rutted logging roads off the transamazon highway.
This VW is a brazilian 2000 kombi. It’s all factory original exept for a raised front chasis and added coil over springs on the front. The motor is a rear-mounted, flat 4, air-cooled, fuel injected, 1.6L

Cruising in the Amazon River
Panama Canal Cruises with Holland America Line
Transiting the Panama Canal is a traveler’s “must do” adventure and is just the beginning of the wonders you’ll experience on a Holland America Line Panama Canal cruise vacation. One of the greatest achievements of the 20th century, the Panama Canal remains an engineering marvel and one of the world’s most vital trade routes. You can also walk in the footsteps of ancient Incans at Machu Picchu or explore rainforests and jungles in search of rare birds and endangered species on longer itineraries. Relax on beautiful Mexican and Caribbean beaches while on holiday. Or cruise Costa Rica’s Golfo Dulce and South America’s Amazon River.
