We have 2 Peacock Bass and both are sick, does anyone know anything about peacock bass or sick fish>?
Had these two for about 8 months now. the 1st one became sick after bout 2 months. We’ve tried everything for internal and external parasites, ick, etc (lookes like something is eating his stomach from inside out- he’s stayed about 4 inches long):(. We do 25 % h2o changes and check the ph of the h2o all the time, and everything is normal. Now, 2 days ago the healthy one stopped eating (freeze dried food and rosy minnows- VERY unlike him), and he’s lost his color (had big black spots and a straight line down the tail, now, he’s white, and his marking are hardly noticable at all. They have an aquarium light that we turn on for them to stimulate sunlight, and the small one still has his color. Does anyone know what could be the cause of this? any help is appreciated.

Your fish have an internal infection. Have you tried the heavier stuff like Furanase or Cipro? Furanase can be bought at some fish stores or can be ordered online. Cipro is a prescription drug, and if you don’t have any lying around, then you might try to get a vet to prescribe it. I actually cleared up a nasty internal infection in my african cichlids with my dog’s old cipro prescription. Both of these drugs are much more easily absorbed by the fish than other OTC drugs like tetracycline or maracyn. You need to act soon if you are going to have any success. If you have already tried these, then I wish you luck.
