I love catching … I love catching those and I always wanted a wild one as a pet. I caught some today actually, what a great fight they give! See me catching some monster peacock bass and other fish in my channel. You will not be disappointed. 5 stars.
They come from the … They come from the warm rivers and tributaries of the Amazon River in South America, so a good temperature to keep them at is around 82 degrees.
im not sure what … im not sure what you keep your p.bass with, but mine (both over a year old) have been completely passive to every tankmate they’ve been introduced to. in fact, they actually tend to get bullied, even at a foot+ in length. it might just be the locals, but in my experience, p.bass tend to be great with anything too big to eat
gotta love those … gotta love those pbass. got 2 myself. be ready for tankbusters in a year. won’t find many cichlids more fun to watch feeding or with more personality than these. if you feel like weaning them onto frozen instead of live foods (except as treats), look me up. i’d recommend it not only for financial reasons, but it’s a bit more healthy. although, aything you feed them and they eat will work in the end. in any case, that’s a good-looking pair you have. nice arowanna too.
hey dude i just got … hey dude i just got a pbass like about week ago hes like 2inches and it looks like he gets ick but then the spots go away fast like the next day or 2 it leaves (the spot) then another one comes up some where else on its body i was wondering if it just dust that sticks on his scales and then drifts off or is it ick? should i be concerned? he acts fine i feed him a brineshrimp/bloodworm mix he loves it. and hes active most of the time.
