Can I keep a 5" peacock bass, 4.5" red devil, and Green Terror together?

Thinking about getting a peacock bass (Cichla ocellaris) and a red devil (Amphilophus labiatus) together with my Green Terror (Aequidens Rivulatus)……..

Michael,

You can keep almost anything with anything if they have enough room, but in a home aquarium I don’t know of anything that a red devil will get along with (even other red devils).

If you decide to try, at least have some alternative option such as telling the fish shop you might bring them back or another tank, because when they don’t get along they really let you know it.

Red devils and green terrors work fine together in a large 100 gallon + tank with lots of plants and such to hide in. The peacock bass is not as aggressive and will also outgrow them both by about a foot so I would stay away from him unless you have a Giant Tank.

That is loads of attitude, for that stocking, start thinking 500g+++++++++, red devils will kill just about every fish that it is capable of killing ( Oscars, plecos, seen one kill a green terror at pet shop ). Filtration has to be CRAZY, like a 200g sump filter ( like physically 200g, not for 200g tanks ) , a very large canister filter, 2-4 extremely powerful HOBS and several powerheads. Now for heaters, probably 8-9 will do the trick, thats about 500$ just for heating. Gravel is probably going to need to be 500-550 lbs of gravel or 600lbs of sand, decor is going to be crazy expensive. Fish are going to easily hit 100$ for a good batch.

It’s too much money for something that’s just not worth the money, if you want to keep larger fish get a 100-200g and get a cichlid community like"
    Severums
    Firemouthes
    Convicts
Larger catfish ( Raphael, common pleco, and so on )
    Bala sharks
    Pictus catfish

    Good luck
