This video contains views of the Amazon rainforest during the wet season. Rivers flood the forest far inland making it possible to navigate deep in the forest by canoe and small boats. The video contains images and clips of the Bora indian tribe as well as of animals that live in the area. All my pictures as well as clips were possible during my 4 day stay at the Amazon Rainforest Lodge during some of the excursions provided by the lodge. The main purpose of this video is to create awareness among people and help protect the world’s natural resources.

That’s a Brazilian Wandering Spider invading my bed space while I was staying at a wallless Amazon Rainforest lodge in Peru. Thankfully, this spider only has six legs which is probably the only reason I am alive to post this video! Most venemous animal [correction: most deadly spider] in the world per the authoritative wikipedia. There is no electricity at night and it was cloudy, so there is absolutely zero source of light so when I started to see psychedelic like lights in my vision I thought it was either a reaction to severe sensory deprivation or a spiritual experience, but turned out to be an ocular migraine.

I almost forgot. I first saw the spider on the wall which was about 4 inches from the head of the bed, directly across from the mattress. I had just woken up and reached in front of the bed to get the key which I had hidden under the mattress. When I couldn’t find the key (TOTALLY DARK, no electricity), I got up to get a flashlight which is when I saw the spider. My hand must have literally been inches from the spider!

On vacation in Peru Yarapa River Lodge we came across a woodpecker knocking on a tree, when we came closer we saw the fight between a femail woodpecker and a snake.

The snake is: Olive whipsnake, chironious fuscus
The Woodpecker is: Crimson crested woodpecker
