I love to travel and explore. I served 4 years in the Marines and only travelled through the USA. After I got out I have done some overseas travelling on my own. I spent 3 weeks travelling Japan in 2005 and a month in Europe in 2006.

I am looking to travel to the Amazon Rainforest sometime between July and October of 2008. I have not decided on the exact duration of the trip but I imagine it to be approx 3 weeks. I also dont know which country that I want to start my trip in or if I should travel to ajoining countries that are a part of the Amazon.

I dont want to stay in major cities for very long and am obviously trying to spend as least money as possible while staying relatively safe.

I am hoping someone has a large amount of experience there, from either living or extensive travel and could give me some advice.

Hiya! my boyfriend and I want to go to Peru next year and trying to get some ideas. We are probably only able to go for 6 weeks at the most.

Has anyone done the 4-5 day trek to Choquequiaro? How was it?

Anyone do any tours to Amazon? how long were they? worth the trip?

What other places would you recommend? The coastline??

Is it possible to do some independant travelling throughout via buses, trains, etc?? Or is it best doing a complete tour? What was your experience??
